Tony Promiscuo - Owner, Artistic Director
Tony Promiscuo is one of the most sought after educators in the hair fashion industry. Over the past two decades as a member of John Paul Mitchell Systems elite education team, he has shared his experience with more than 10,000 hairstylists worldwide. Tony’s mission as an educator was noted in 2007 when he was named Paul Mitchell Educator of the Year, being appointed as a Master Associate, and winning the prestigious position of Platform Team Member for John Paul Mitchell Systems. As a Paul Mitchell Educator, his vision is cultivated through the talented team of stylists at Godiva Salon. Through an incredible training program, each team member develops the artistic talent and customer skills which make your visit a special experience.
Tony began his career as a graduate of the International University of Cosmetology in 1975 and went on to train with Vidal Sassoon in London. As a member of the John Paul Mitchell Systems elite education team, he has worked with some of the world's top hair fashion designers, including Richard Dalton, Steven Moody, Robert Cromeans, Jeanne Braa, and John and Suzanne Chadwick.
In 1981, Tony opened Godiva Salon in Atlanta's upscale Buckhead community and spent the past 25 years building a loyal clientele with his unique approach to hair styling. Tony has the ability to create hair designs to individually complement the facial characteristic of each client through a process of balance and proportion. As well as running Godiva and owning five family hair salons throughout Georgia and Alabama, Tony is a gifted speaker and educator who travels throughout North America and Europe lecturing at various tradeshows, conferences, workshops and seminars about the different trends and facets of the hair industry and salon business.
Jeannine Occhipinti - Master Artisan
A native Atlantan, Jeannine started her career nearly twenty years ago apprenticing at a local leading salon. She was specially trained in Pivot Point Cutting at Jingles in New York City. When Jeannine began her work with Godiva Salon in 2001, she became among the first stylists in the nation to be trained in block color and color-cutting techniques and the first Godiva Salon Thermal Reconditioning Specialist. Since then she has continued her education by attending Paul Mitchell classes in Atlanta, Orlando and Las Vegas. Additionally, Jeannine is a three time graduate of the elite Roy Peter’s Color Academy, providing her with the knowledge and skills to use all professional color lines. She is one of the salon’s Thermal Reconditioning experts and has advance training, offering top quality service in Hairdreams Extensions. Jeannine’s visionary and intuitive style combined with her immaculate technical skill reflects on her well established clientele as Jeannine is one of Godiva Salon’s most requested stylists.
Stephanie Nimmer - Master Colorist
A Paul Mitchell Hair Care International Platform Artist, Stephanie is Godiva Salons’ Master Colorist. With more than 20 years of professional hair care experience, she specializes in various top notch hair coloring techniques such as corrective and dimensional color. Enjoying a longtime affiliation with Paul Mitchell, her formal training with Scott Cole brought her on board to assist in the training of nationally known Paul Mitchell Educators. Locally, Stephanie is the Director of Color Education at Paul Mitchell the School Atlanta. Voted one of the “Top 10 Colorists” by Self Magazine, Stephanie’s teachings and work have been featured in several industry publications such as Hair Color and Design, Modern Salon and Cut and Dry. As a Paul Mitchell Platform Artist, Stephanie has traveled the world and is a Founding Member of Color Cutting USA, which uses Scott Cole’s teaching methods.
Katie Royal - Master Designer
Katie began her career in the salon industry in 1999 training as an apprentice at an Aveda Concept Salon in Griffin, GA. She went on to complete her education in Cosmetology, graduation and receiving her license in 2001. A member of the Godiva Team since 2003, Katie has earned her stripes as one of the salon’s most reputable stylists. Furthermore, she is one of the salon’s Thermal Reconditioning Specialists. Continuing her education and perfecting her skills, Katie has received training under Aveda, Paul Mitchell, and Redken educators, as well as, attends numerous hair shows. Katie specializes in texturizing haircutting techniques and block-coloring techniques.
Brittany Abbott - Senior Designer
Brittany’s attention to fashion and design initially sparked her interest in cosmetology and ultimately lead her to become a hairstylist. In 2004, she started at Godiva Salon training under salon owner and top international educator Tony Promiscuo. Prior to Godiva Salon, Brittany trained with some of the industry’s leading Colorists and Master Stylists from Vidal Sassoon, Faurok and Redken systems, gaining advanced knowledge of color/cutting techniques. Including being one of Godiva’s Thermal Reconditioning Specialists, Brittany is also experienced and skilled in Hairdreams Extension services, the nation’s top hair extension system. Outside of the salon, Brittany makes her mark as a Stylist at fashion shows in Dallas, TX and Atlanta. She has an immense passion for philanthropy and heads several fundraising events each year benefiting organizations such as Marietta Children’s Outreach and Emory University’s Huntington’s Disease Foundation.
Susan Gordy - Senior Designer
Susan, a Godiva Salon Stylist since 2006, began her career attending Paul Mitchell the School Atlanta where she worked directly with Paul Mitchell Artistic Directors Scott Cole and Linda Yodice who educated her in advanced cutting and coloring techniques including block-color techniques and the latest methods in cutting and texturizing. Susan continued training with salon owner and top international educator Tony Promiscuo in hair cutting and coloring and Jeannine Occhipinti to become a Thermal Reconditioning Specialist. As a stylist, Susan continues her education taking classes with Tony and other top educators with John Paul Mitchell Systems, as well as traveling to national shows and training classes in New York, Orlando, Las Vegas, and throughout the nation.
Susan also has extensive training in make-up artistry with top national make-up artists from Aveda, Clinique, Stila, Smashbox and Bobbi Brown cosmetics. She specializes in illuminating photographic make-up placing emphasis in weddings, special events and high fashion make-up.
Ashley Gilbert - Level I Designer
Ashley began her salon industry career working as an assistant and make-up artist at one of Atlanta’s most high-end Aveda Concept salons. A member of the Godiva Team since 2006, Ashley also attended Paul Mitchell the School Atlanta. A short time after training at Paul Mitchell, she was invited to join the advanced training program, Phase Two, which is reserved for the school’s most gifted and talented students. Ashley has participated in classes with some of the industry’s elite including Tony Promiscuo, Scott Cole, Stephanie Nimmer, and Linda Yodice. Now having completed her Paul Mitchell education, Ashley is continuing her career, advancing to new heights, as she builds her clientele and receives further training to become an exceptional stylist.
